The short answer: SOMM DIGI AI is my wine app, at sommdigi.ai. It answers wine questions the way a sommelier would, and it puts 14 wine tools in one place: chat, quizzes and flashcards, pronunciation, pairing, an image studio and more. It's built for people on the sommelier and WSET path, and for wine lovers who want answers without homework. Free to start, with no card.
Honest about it: I didn't build my own AI model. I taught today's best AI to talk wine like a sommelier, using my own Advanced Sommelier exam notes. That's the difference from a general chatbot: the wine knowledge and the way of answering come from a sommelier.
Who it's for
| You are | What you'd use |
|---|---|
| Studying for the Court of Master Sommeliers or WSET (Introductory, Certified, Advanced) | 3,000+ exam-prep questions, quizzes and flashcards, blind tasting drills |
| A working sommelier or server | Pronunciation, wine-list drills, and a chat for the quick question before service |
| A wine director or owner | A custom AI built on your own wine list |
| A wine lover | Ask anything, PairMe for tonight's dinner, free quizzes and games, wine images in your own style |

What's inside
- Chat: ask the somm anything, about any wine, any time.
- Quiz and flashcards: 3,000+ exam-prep questions, and 35 Certified flashcard decks with native audio in nine languages.
- Pronunciation: hear the names before you have to say them at the table.
- PairMe: the right bottle for tonight's dinner.
- Image Studio: make wine images in your own style.
- Custom AI agents: build an AI on your own wine list.
- Prompt Guide: free, and it works outside the app too, in ChatGPT or Claude.
- Games: for a spare five minutes.
Those are the main ones of the 14 tools.
How to ask it good questions
You type a question or an instruction, called a prompt. The clearer the prompt, the better the answer. A few to start with:
- “Ten quiz questions on Alsace, Certified level, one at a time.”
- “Explain Burgundy's soils and how they shape Chardonnay.”
- “Walk me through a deductive tasting note for a young Barolo, step by step.”
- “The key differences between Hermitage and Côte-Rôtie, in a table.”
- “A 20-minute staff training outline on Napa Valley.”
More on getting the most from every prompt in tokens, explained.
What it isn't
- Not a replacement for your course material. For exams, the Court's or WSET's own material is the answer key.
- Not a palate. It can drill the words of tasting; the tasting is yours.
- Not infallible. Like every AI, it can make mistakes. Check what matters.
What it costs
It's free to start, with no card. The current plans are on sommdigi.ai.
